Hard to out recruit all the P5 teams that rake the river parishes for LSU's leftovers.

He did but believes in the Obama administration's philosophy on immigration.

No...it's not. Tulane (thank god they don't have a coach) and Tech have done very well the past 4-5 years in state. We have done...poorly. And we have a built in recruiting tool. Not the APC. Not the IPF. Not even ours fan support or our culture. We have mid level Louisiana recruits who have transferred in from P5 teams they originally committed to, because of playing time, family reasons, injuries, etc. It's a golden opportunity to show the 3 stars in Louisiana...sure you can go play for Miami, Arizona State, Nebraska, etc...just don't be surprised when you have to transfer back, lose precious time in your college career because you made the wrong choice. Cut out the middle man...come here to begin with.

Well this is new... I agree with you completely. Tulane and Tech have killed us in Nola and the river parishes. Lucky for us Tulane is in a perpetual state of ineptness. We have got to recruit better in south LA. One thing is for sure. You can play early and often if you have the talent.

I just don't think Hud is doing a very good job on helping these kids make good decisions. It seems like he is always just telling them...Good Luck and remember us down the road if you change your mind and want to transfer back. That's all well and good...but transfers have a very low success rate.

By the time they get in...their development is already stunted. Look at Otha Peters at the beginning of the year. He looked lost. At the end of the season...one of our best linebackers. Now let's put him in the system 2 years ago, he would be an unstoppable force.

They kill us in the river parishes and in NOLA...but we can't even bring in kids from Acadiana:

2016 Class: Kevin Moore-Acadiana Committed to Texas Tech
2015 Class: Jason Pellerin-Catholic High of New Iberia Committed to Ole Miss
Jalen Bates-Kaplan Committed to Arizona State
2014 Class: Tae Thibodeaux Westgate Committed to Louisville
2013 Class: Josh Boutte Westgate Committed to LSU
Deondre Skinner Patterson Committed to Houston
2012 Class: Lorenzo Phillips Patterson Committed to LSU
    Jacoby Briscoe Committed to Miami

We were in on every single one of these kids. I realize the ones who went to LSU were going to go there regardless. How can we expect to build a fence around the state...when we can't even get any recruits in our own backyard?

With our past success, we should be doing better in recruiting Louisiana.

No doubt. In fact, it can be argued that Hud recruited better when he first got here than now with 4 bowl wins. (Maybe that was due to Saunders)
