After the 05-06 season Walker made Lee make changes, which killed APR, and Lee was forced to emphasize high school kids.

This is correct, and why he was given time to turn it around. Had he continued with poor APR the program would have been in much worse shape. This is why I commented earlier in the week that marlin inherited a better situation, academically and financially, than Lee did in 05. Talent and wins may have been lacking but that was due to having to straighten up the academics and bring in quality kids.
