Thread: Is Bob Marlin's seat even starting to warm up?

I agree. We started off sluggish on the offensive end, but hustle made up for it. Stove might've missed like three 2-footers, but added about 4 offensive boards and a steal or two in the opening minutes. I enjoyed last nights game. I loved the halftime adjustments on the defensive too

That's been a major issue as he attempts to rebuild there.
Kaspar is also inheriting a lack of tradition. When you are used to losing (and at TxSt they've lost for a LONG time) it's that much tougher to build something.

This is the first year he has had all of his own players. But I'll say this....he has to recruit better. Gant is a good player, but he's a senior. I've liked Gilder-Tilbury from the beginning.

But Montalvo is very guardable. Naylor is serviceable. Black is just ok.

His teams are good enough defensively to keep them in games. They'll be tough to beat in San Marcos.

But if he's going to be a challenger in this league, the talent level has to improve. He's not in the Southland any more.

Gee, overall, nothing about the officiating crew last night. They seemed to let them play for the most part. There is always some call someone might complain about but for the most part they did a good job staying out the way.

They missed MULTIPLE travels, 3 in the key, and the non-call on Hedgemen's rebound under the ULM basket down the stretch was horrendous. Instead, the moron called Hedge out of bounds.

They gave us a make-up call seconds after that though. I agree they missed a few and called some off the ball brush fouls which is petty and obnoxious.

I feel good about where this team is right now.
You must have been watching a different game than I was last night! That was probably the best game I've seen in the CajunDome in the last few years!

----Hey what is it with the stepping out of bounds---I think 3 on us and 1 on them---seems high!!!

Darn good point, BoP. You're right. I guess I just got frustrated with a few mistakes we made... I guess my word choice was bad. It wasn't hard to watch... it was just frustrating at times.... but you're right.

In the end, we played well.

And I was glad to sick it to Funroe.

I will say this. I know BOP's been saying when Jay Wright goes we go, but last night was a game I thought Jay Wright didn't get going all night and we were still able to make a comeback and win. I don't think that happens earlier this year.

It was also a night where two guys you would expect to be defensive players stepped up (Stove, Long) but two players who have been discussed as a detriment on the defensive end (Register, Hedgeman) may have sealed the win on the defensive end.

When he was in the game Washington was guarding Deng. Deng [for him] got zip done offensively. Bryce did a great job on him.

That's true. And if I'm reading this correctly, we held him to 13 points... one of his 3 worst nights this season: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...550/majok-deng
