Actually, this was blown up years ago when two things happened. One, JC and ECA kept beating everyone in state and the smaller schools were always playing for second place. Second, the watering down of the playoffs to where we are today...Coke and trophy for all. Now, with the LHSAA, it's all about the money. Even the minor sports.

You saying it's not about the kids? Still the programs need the revenue.

Unlike 1st matchup this year. STM was the more physical team and really got after Cole Kelly from the edge. Offensively Begue finished with 5 catches 141 yards playing both ways and an INT. I guess he still doesn't fit what UL is looking for😳

Once again, Begue puts up some nice numbers.

That Monrose kid had the game of his life coming off the edge. Really good player and even a better person.

Kudos to STM coaches. That was one hell of a game plan.

JC and Evangel weren't the ones who decided to blow up Louisiana HS football. Public school principals got upset about what 2-3 schools were doing and decided to punish every single school.

All they had to do was ban schools that broke the rules, or create an "elite class" where all the schools like JC and Evangel can beat up on eachother. But no, they said "let's just blow this **** up."

Yep. But the reason got the split is because of JC and evangline they have actually nicked name the split the evangel rule.

I get what you're saying but those two schools aren't responsible for the split. They shouldn't get the blame for it. It's the fault of the public school principals who chose to respond to those two team's success by splitting up all private and public schools.

It was a great game. Monrose and Leonards kept the pressure on from the end all night. There were times though that I thought STM needed to blitz and they didn't allowing Kelly too much time to find an open receiver. Putting Gardiner back at safety was a nice change up by STM.

Teurlings suffered from Murray and Robertson getting ejected within 5 minutes of each other. Losing those 2 took away 2 of their most physical players.

Any school can have success if they are buying their players. What would really help, would be if the schools just kicked them out of the LHSA.
