Those that are quick to say this years stay is worse than Willis. Last year the D gave up 30 points a game. This year...31 points a game with new d line, injuries, best cb not playing, safeties hurt. Not saying he is good, just not as bad as you think. I think it'll improve
There are a lot of coaching changes this year, and I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of the staff apply elsewhere, including HUD. The Tulane position will also be open ... maybe a complete shakeup next year.
On a positive note, as many as 25 FBS openings may have to be filled after this season ends. This will work in UL's favor, as Hudspeth isn't going anywhere. With looming NCAA sanctions a possibility for UL, our recruiting is set to take a hit this year. ULM, Tulane, Houston, and Memphis, all teams that recruit some of the same athletes that we do, will have to put new coaching staffs together before hitting the recruiting trail this year. That should help us in recruiting.
On a negative note, if LaTech keeps Holtz and his staff around, they'll probably have a banner recruiting year this year. We don't play them for at least the next few next years, so we'll have time to recover from everything that's happened this year before we face off with them again.
From what I know right now I would put it at 90% that Holtz is gone....and if he runs the table he will get a very nice job.....
Is there the son of a prominent coach looking for a gig? Maybe Joe Paterno son to LTUR if Skippy skips.
Z, we abdicated the state to LTUR a couple of decades back. In the past we were roughly in the ball park with them on wins and loses head to head. Then Jakes graduated and it's 8 in a row or is it seven.
