  1. Ragin' Cajuns LA Baseball Adds Two To 2016 Class

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team have signed two more players to a national letter of intent for the 2017 season, with the additions of Tyler Stover (Vacaville, Calif.) and Handsome Monica (Mandeville, La.), head coach Tony Robichaux announced on Sunday.

Does anyone know if these guys transferred to a JUCO before coming to UL? Or do they have to sit out a year? It's a really good thing that they both have had successful experiences at high level D-1 schools. Could be huge!

I do not think baseball players are required to sit out a year if they receive a release from their former team. I could be wrong, but this is not football. (no FCS, FBS)

It says the catcher was drafted out of JUCO, but doesn't say which one or give stats. And it doesn't say anything about JUCO for Stover.

Sorry. Advertiser article mentioned JUCO but Boomer's writer didn't specify which one.

They changed the rule a couple of years ago. Now if you transfer from a four year institution to another, you must sit out a year.

Monica is at NW Florida State College (school that won the JUCO D1 National Title last year.) This will be his first season there and he'll be classified as a sophomore since he played last year at Arizona. So he'll have 2 years if/when he gets here.

That is correct and Stover is at Solano CC in California.

Will he make the baseball "all Name team"?
