I am seeing the exact same thing. Shawn Long is considerably better. I think his time with the USA team helped him tremendously.

Probably the older players this summer also got him straightened out mentally what it will take to get the big payday. Looks more attentive so far this season.

I'm excited about Shawn. I've been his biggest critic here. I think he's rounding into the player he can be, and that's why I always gave grief. It frustrated me to no end to see that great of a talent leave so much on the table. I know he reads RP, so let me say; Shawn, you got it brother. Keep grinding. Not that it matters, but as a Cajuns fan, I'm proud of your growth man. Shows what kind of man you are. Keep it up.

Not every team is going to shoot that well against us every night. We'll be fine. At this point it's like football, we can't beat these "power 5" teams even when we have a lot of talent ourselves. It's pretty frustrating no matter the sport..

Well baseball and softball do pretty well.

And if the team's you play are having break out shooting pelerdormances against you every night, it ain't an anomaly.. It's YOU.

Another thing is, it doesn't matter if we're billed as a good basketball team. We haven't been a respected program in a LOOOONG time. Those kids at bama, Miami, UCLA don't respect the name across the jersey. That has a lot to do with the approach to the game. It's just the truth guys.

And we still can't make free throws..
I don't disagree with a lot of what you're saying, but even completely unguarded, 15-25 from 3 point range is ridiculous.

We need to improve defensively, but I would guess that 99% of the time (unlike the last 2 games), our opponents won't make over 60% from behind the arc.

Really? lots of SBC teams shoot their best three pint games of their seasons vs Marlin defense.

Yes.. Shawn has improved.. I hope he takes a leadership role and LEADS us. We have some young guys that need to grow up quickly if we gonna make a run later in March

so our offense can be good enough, but we still need to improve on shot selection and situational awareness. our defense is very weak. these teams are getting wide open looks most of the game. we still turn the ball over way too much, and free throws need to improve. but we have great fight and heart. now just need to get our head to follow.
