I was listening to the radio and apparently this is a Nixon issue. Nixon has said that he has no interest in playing running back. Nixon must have been promised things and if Hud does not follow through then Hud is probably going to be the bad guy coach. There is no other reason to explain why the third best QB on our team is the co-starter.
At the end of the day, Hud is still the HC and Nixon is the player. We have come to the point where this experiment has not fully worked. I, as well as others, have thought that Nixon has gotten beyond a fair shot to prove himself as a starting qb and has not been effective like Hud or anyone else had hoped. And regardless of what was promised, it's to the point where you have to try something new that might implement a little more success than what we have done now even if it takes Nixon moving to RB.
I'll somewhat accept that excuse when we lose to Tech or Kentucky BUT we are barely competing in the Sunbelt. I'm not one that leans toward Haack or Nixon, I just want to see us recruit towards a scheme and develope those players within the scheme. What I see right now is a team not built to do much of anything well.
My wish list for the offseason...
1.) A big running back that runs hard. I'm sure we can go out and find one somewhere.
2.) some juco o-linemen to instantly upgrade our talent level.
3.) Some pass rushers. Right now Darzil is the only one getting to the QB.
4.) Some physical TE's. We are missing Maxwell in that sense.
My parents taught me a long time ago that if you can't say anything nice about people, you shouldn't say anything at all. Therefore, I won't say anything more about last night!
