Even BAMA had some down years with mike dubose, Mike Shula and Dennis Franchione. Although each would put up a 10 win season (two of them vacated).
After sleeping on it, I've come to a epiphany...
Here we are, a few games left in the season and our leader still has not come to the realization HIS indecision way back in camp is still evident today, and has contributed mightily to the situation we are in. Or another way of putting this is, when your punter may be your MVP and your freshman place kicker is an upgrade because he can sometimes hit outside 40, you got problems. Blaming injuries....well check with the ULMost coach in a few weeks how that excuse works.
What really has me concerned is next two years. Both Haack and Nixon will be seniors, as will Eli. Quave will be gone from the line. And that's just the beginning. We're mid to bottom of the pack in the freaking SBC. Boise and McNeese will tear us new ones next September. The butterfly effect from this single lack of leadership in making a decision and living with it is going to show. The lasting effect of one bad decision. Want an example...just look at Refineryville and their QB situation a few years back. It all went back to Perriloux getting kicked off the team. You HAVE TO have stability in your QB leadership position at any level. We don't.
Hud was hired as an up and comer young coach. Now in the 5th year, the luster has quickly worn off. And he is no longer a young coach. Either Hud finds lightening in a bottle next year or he is our Larry Blankney. Oh, the excuse of the NCAA sanctions will be used, but this floater in the punch bowl was laid before those come into play.
And no, not giving up my tickets. I have no problem if we lose and go down fighting. I have a problem with losing and playing like a hot mess.
But I thought we get better as the season goes on?
I see these reasons why we lost(in order of priority):
We dropped to many critical passes that were thrown at the receivers' hands.
Defense did not tackle well 60% of the time.
Jalen was not used on the 2 point conversions.
