There's opening game of the season and there's the 'grand opening ' of the rebuilt Cajun Dome. If we could land anyone like Georgia for the original grand opening that would have been tremendous. LSU could have proven that they're in charge of basketball in Louisiana today, unlike in 71 and 72 when we had the studs

---You make my point---the opening game and the Grand reopening were suppose to be the same and obviously the talent factor has changed---but LSU didn't want to come to reopen the Cajun Dome which would have been a sell out!!!

To my knowledge that was never the case. They have known all along that the Cajundome would not be available for the start of the season.

I believe that is correct. The real question was how soon would it be ready after the season started.

Think it was Coach Murphy that was trying to get it done with LSU and a few more!!! and I thought I heard Coach Marlin say that it wouldn't have worked because of the Dome construction!
