This has been my point the whole time. It's not the QB it's the scheme and play calling that's the problem. I have no problem with Nixon or Haack at QB but I want to see an offense that fits them. I also want to see us recruit to that system. Do not recruit a QB who cannot run the system that you want to run.
I love option football but what we run with Nixon is not option football. We talk a lot about the offense handcuffing Haack but the system handcuffs Nixon as well.
Not when you look at it. He made it harder for any program to buy him out. With his poor performance and sudden ineptitude...that makes it harder for him to get a bigger and better offer. He pigeonholed himself...which...well I'll be...sounds a lot like what he is doing to the QB situation right now.
Better than getting drilled by a team we beat on the road a couple of seasons back. The Zips have no geat history. How did they jet ahead of Hud's 4 won bowl team.
We've got to quit acting like we've got nothing and not to expect steady improvement. Three seasons ago LTUR was awful, and had spurned a bowl invite. Today they're miles ahead. USM has been garbage for years and are exiting their winter.
I expect a qualified QB and a coach who knows how to play to his strengths. I expect high retention rates. I expect a lot of things regardless of program history. His has five recruiting classes. Half a decade is ample time for a coach to erase most negative feelings about his program. Coaches are fired for not producing after three years. We have regressed.
Sure thing. I still want Farmer gone...and I'd like for Hud to catch his head. Does that suffice Barrister? Does that make me less of a fan? Am I not allowed to change my mind based on new evidence? How anyone can be anything but skeptical of the Hud we are seeing in year 5, especially in light of his glaring weaknesses in years 2,3, & 4, is beyond me. I hope my admission helps. It sure ain't making our ____ing team any better...now is it?
