Thread: Final: ULM (24) vs Louisiana (30)

It was tough tonight. The field conditions were horrible, the play was sloppy, & I was ready to give up. Then when we got to the fourth quarter and they played the old Roman soldier thing on the video board (I love that video) and my brother in law said "the fourth quarter is our quarter", I got re-energized and stayed with the Cajuns to the end. It ended great for us, but we'll need a lot of improvement in a hurry if we want to have a shot at a bowl.
Also, Andre Comeaux was at the game not to far from us & he stayed to the end. He is a big UL supporter and deserves your consideration.

All BS aside, I've known it since day 1.... This is not a great team. They have had ups and downs all season, we still don't have a starting QB, and we start slow. BUT!!!!!! The coaches make adjustments and this defense in the second half of games is something to watch. Main thing I want to see going forward is that if we use both QB's, we have to run the entire offense with both. Can't be one dimensional like tonight with Nixon. Use the short quick passes with both then mix in the long throws and read options.

We play on a turf field with a great drainage system or at least that's what we were told when they were raising funds for it. We will make any excuse we can.

We are a bad football team. We play other bad football teams in a weak conference. Sometimes our players are better conditioned and the bad players on the other teams get tired and we make a comeback.

There was no resurgence or Trojan horse. Tonight there were two bad teams and the lesser of the bad teams won the game.

What Brooks came in and did today was nothing short of miraculous, given the circumstances. But people like you don't recognize that. And most this folks choose not too see it because they'd rather BE right than GET IT right.. That performance down the stretch was extremely good, given the circumstances surrounding that moment.
I think miraculous is quite a stretch. We were down 2 possessions to Monroe. Monroe...

We should vote for someone because they went to a football game and stayed until the end and he cheers for our team???

That post explains a lot about the problems we have in Baton Rouge.

Is "Monroe. Monroe..." shorthand for comeback in the rain?

PS You are only down 2 possessions if you get the 2 point conversion, UL in reality was down 3 possessions.

Here's the thing: all things being sorta equal, you cannot win in college football - even in the Sun Belt - unless you stretch defenses. Only Haack can make a throw past five yards. The days of winning consistently with dink and dunk are over - at least for now.

Hell, Texas Tech scored 53 points in regulation and got routed.

Hud said that earlier - we need to be putting up 40 and 50 points to give our defense a fair shot.

The way you do that is to make them scared you'll pop a deep one like we did on the last TD.

Haack may not be perfect, but Nixon isn't getting that throw to him ever, period.

When that opens up (in the first quarter, for crying out loud) Eli and Torrey and even Nixon, if you want to put him in some, will run all over everyone that's left - including App State.

But you need to score TOUCHDOWNS.

    Here's what I'd do:

Fellas, you each get half the reps with the first team.

Before we run out, I'm flipping a coin. Winner gets the first drive.

You stay in the game until your drive fails to score a touxchdown.

Next guy goes in and stays in until he fails to score a touchdown.

No exceptions. No matter where you start - nine yards or ninety yards away - touchdown gets you the next series. No TD and the other guy goes in next series. Alternate that way.

One more thing: let the QB call the plays.

We'll put 60 on Georgia State if we do this.

Probably the dumbest idea yet on Ragin' Pagin, but it's got to be better than what we saw today.
