Last comment on the qb. Nixon. Gives us the best chance of having a winning season percentage wise this year. Next year if we want to be better then i dont think he is the answer.

I was in Ruston as well as at all our home games. I was stunned that both QB's scored over 100. That must be some grading system because neither one has passed the eye test. And the coaches get a D- for preparing them to be successful. I still want the best and hope we can have a successful season.
I would like to see what is behind Door #3.
Even after 17-44, Nixon still has the higher quarterback rating (117-107). Haack has a better completion percentage (59% vs. 54%) Both have thrown four interceptions each. Nixon has seven touchdown passes, which is seven more than Haack.
Running, Nixon averages 7.3, Haack 5.7. Nixon has scored four touchdowns. Haack has scored one.
That means, in the touchdowns responsible for (passing, running) Nixon has eleven. Haack has one.
Those numbers won't change anyone's opinion.
They are simply the numbers.
When do you bench a 107 QB rating? When you know your offense was designed for the next guy.
Can't argue those numbers.
Still, it makes the off season decisions/prep seem unfocused or inefficient.
My hope is that Nixon starts making those around him better, I cringe that his abilities could cost McGuire an NFL career.
....If anybody caught the pro game last night there was a great video of Cams zone read plays and why it is so effective.......this is not a pro or negative qb deal.......it is why everybody is running this great offensive scheme.....if the non-blocked guy goes for the fake you are off to the races....if he stays on the qb there is a one on one situation and a player who can't run to the ball!!!
The numbers, without the details, shouldn't change, confirm or establish an opinion. Almost everything that had the majority of us weighing in preseason as to which QB should start and for what reason... was thrown out of the window when our coaches proved incapable of preparing this particular offensive personnel and best suited offensive play selection and sequence for this year. We should not be spending nearly the time discussing the QBs as we should the OC and head coach. They aren't as easily replaceable... but their methods should be under serious scrutiny. We can blame this year on "rebuilding", "inexperience" and the like... but I've seen much better coaching influence outcomes with lesser personnel. Hud and Jay want very specific athletes to succeed in an offensive package. And when they don't have those individuals, they have no answer whatsoever. Sadly, I think they've got some talent that they absolutely appear clueless how to utilize.
How many times has Nixon been pulled after getting us down 30?
