Thread: Nixon's Career Night Not Enough For Cajuns Against A-State

  1. Ragin' Cajuns Nixon's Career Night Not Enough For Cajuns Against A-State

Junior Jalen Nixon became the second quarterback in school history to record both 200 yards rushing and passing in a single game, but Arkansas State built a 34-7 lead in the second quarter and held on for a 37-27 victory over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in a nationally-televised game on Tuesday at Centennial Bank Stadium.

Well, here's another way of putting that...

We can blame play calling all we want, but starting out 2 for 17 with a pick 6 is what cost us the game.

I hope he doesn't have many more career nights like that one!

Hopefully, this was a good learning experience for Nixon. I did like the fight and the courage to keep making plays in the passing game after the interceptions.

It's not Nixon's fault our coaches are asking a running back to play quarterback.

If we are not a first half team, it is because the coaches are starting the game with the wrong plan.

    Not "coaches", it's coach.

Eli is the best WR on the team as well as a dangerous RB in space.

Nixon showed last night how dangerous a RB he is.

I wish we had an option that would allow us to capitalize on these strengths.

Career night rushing, 17-44 passing, 2 TD, 2 INT (1 pick 6). 44 passing plays and Nixon was only able to complete passes to 3 players. That is high school stats.

How can a group of men with years of experience at their craft, be so utterly miserable at what they do? Coaching might not be easy...but it's not Particle Physics.
