True, but if we are going with Nixon we might as well change to an all out option offense cause Nixon couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat.

You might see him carving up the UL-L defense as a Brokeback next year or leading SLU to a FCS final four.

Looking at the remainder of the season, there is no team on our remaining schedule we cannot beat, App State being our most difficult game. Certainly, we will have to play much better to beat them. What we need to happen is for App State to beat GA Southern tonight and for App State to beat Ark State next week, giving Ark State 1 loss. S. Alabama's toughest games remaining are vs. UL, GA Southern and App State and they already have 1 loss. If GA Southern loses to App State, their toughest remaining game is vs. S. Alabama. In this scenario, every team will have at least 1 loss except App State. So, our game vs. App State could determine the conference championship or at best for UL a shared conference championship with only 1 loss. This is a scenario that could definitely play out. Given the way we are playing, winning the rest of our games, which are all possible as none of these teams are very good with the exception of S. Alabama, hope of winning the conference and beating App State is all we have to hang on to. Doesn't look likely at this point, but could happen if this team and coaches can get their _____ together. It ain't over 'til its over, so let's remain optimistic that we can still pull this off. And, if it happens, we finish 8-4 with a bowl game to play and a shot at another 9-4 season. That would be a huge salvage of a thus far very disappointing season.

UL (2-4, 1-1) plays ULM, GA State, S. Alabama, NM State, App State and Troy.

    S. Alabama (3-3, 1-1) plays TX State, Idaho, UL, GA State, GA Southern, App State

Ark. State (4-3, 3-0) plays GA State, App State, ULM, NM State, TX State

App State (5-1, 3-0) plays GA Southern, Troy, Ark State, Idaho, UL, S. Alabama

GA Southern (5-1. 3-0) plays App State, TX State, Troy, Georgia, S. Alabama, GA State
OK. The first domino fell last night with the App State win.

    S. Alabama now has only 1 loss but has to play UL, GA Southern and App State.

Ark. State still has to play App State, which they need to lose. The other games are winnable.

App State still needs to play Ark State, UL and S. Alabama. Beat Ark State and lose to UL. S. Alabama would be a nice loss but not likely to happen given USA's final 3 games.

GA Southern's toughest remaining conference game is vs. S. Alabama, but that is right after they play Georgia, so anything can happen.

So, IF these other dominos fall (which is a good possibility) AND UL takes cares of business and wins the rest of its games which are all winnable, including App State, we have a great chance of at least sharing the conference championship. Do that and we are 8-4 going to a bowl game for our 5th straight win and 9-4 season. I know, that's a lot of "ifs". We have to first beat ULM and continue to improve week to week. However, considering how the season started, that we are in a rebuilding year, and will have a lot of talent returning next year, that would be an outstanding end to the year to build on.

SLU has a transfer from Utah in Donovon Isom who fits their system, which is similar to the Cajuns. If haack does transfer, which I would if I was him, I doubt they would allow him to McNeese bc they are on the schedule next year.

He won't be backing up Nixon.

Appalachian State will run the table and finish the regular season 11-1.

Haack can transfer anywhere he wants after he graduates in May.

Yep. Unless Nixon gets hurt I don't see him staying. There will be tons of options for him if he graduates.

imo I don't think Nixon has looked that great as the proclaimed "runner" he is supposed to be. He doesn't seem to break tackles or get lots of yardage.

Yea. I mean he only ran for over 200 yards. If we're gonna have a mobile QB he needs to get 250 on the ground minimum!

    Northwestern state could use him.
