The VW scandals go pretty far up the vast but the majority of stockholders had no clue, most employees had no clue, dealers had no clue. They're all gonna suffer at least as much as the perpetrators. Their retirement, businesses, and jobs in the tank. Customers resale values in the tank.

VW Is taking a blood bath over their sins regardless of how high up it goes. Life expectancy shortened by hours globall from faulty testing . They deserve their punishment.

By making institutions responsible there should be fewer rogues. Even though The very term rogue says it's out of your control.

A canned response and a knee jerk response are similar in that they can both be accomplished without much thought.

She retired and took her retirement early after lawyering up with the NCAA. She is not going to testify so the NCAA just has the testimony of several recruits. If a person refuses to cooperate with the NCAA, they take it as an admission of guilt. This is what they have with Cage and Saunders at this time.

It is kind of like a plea bargain. You try and create the punishment so the NCAA believes you are acting in good faith. They can add to it or refuse it altogether, but I think offering this as a possible penalty is the best of (all of the bad) options.

Obviously you are in the majority and I am probably alone in my take.

I just feel knee jerk, cookie cutter, canned responses generally serve low long term value.

For the most part I agree with you Mandy, but one player did play that year in the bowl game. The other played during the 2012 football season.

Cajun fans will never vacate that season. Nor will those players. That season happened, the bowl win happened, it was the most memorable season and game of my life, at least. We all know what happened.
