And the different situation included the head coach knowing about and ignoring their problem.

Well, how do you propose to get any other conference to see us any differently than everyone outside Lafayette has had us pegged since the early 1970's? It took Louisiana sports writers 40 years and some political maneuvering to forget our last major run-in with the NCAA so if this one is only 15 years, that'll be great.

My comment was in regards to your hunting and fishing comment..this sucks but our players need fans more than ever right now...real fans, no matter who we are playing.

This would be a great time for the school to push Louisiana.

Half the State claims it doesn't exist, so the situation won't register and if the NCAA does drop the hammer the name will be etched in stone.

Not happy with the publicity, but sometimes, you just have to shrug and move on. Looks like the NCAA has it's private hearing in the fall, and then we get a decision a few months later.

Hopefully, they say our self-imposed punishment is satisfactory, but who knows...? On the one hand, everyone seems to acknowledge it was a "rogue coach".... On the other hand, when you mess with academic integrity of any school, as an outsider, I would be outraged if something big did not come down. Then again, as many folks have pointed out, we are only big enough to be a whipping boy for the bigger schools.

I'm hoping this turns out to be one and done. Give up the trophy from 2011, put an asterisk next to that year's football accomplishments, and move on. I hope.

But our past history with the NCAA leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth....

Thankfully, Roger Goodell is not in charge.

No, I believe UNC might have done something with grades, but obviously not enough to deserve a NCAA penalty.

We did not fake grades.

We signed players who had fake scores on some tests, and we didn't know we did that until years later.

Not only that, but the NCAA had no idea.

Also, the test organization in question had no idea either.

That's just it, we didn't fake grades. AN ACT test site employee did.
