Thread: Intentional Grounding, The 2011 Rogue Coach NCAA Infractions

UL is the victim not the culprit.

The self imposed sanctions are premature.

In my opinion, our administration dropped the ball when they allowed Sanders to continue recruiting activities for more than a year after the NCAA contacted UL to interview Sanders about Ole Miss recruiting violations. Second, if he was "fired" why did the public announce state that he left for personal reasons? Why did it take this long to surface? Where is the transparency? I totally agree with the "lack of institutional control" allegations.

I was in high school when USL got the death penalty for basketball. I was in collage when USL had to forfeit 3 games for having an illegal player. Now this!

When is this sort of stuff going to stop!

As an RCAF member I am extremely disappointed.

Now Haack can transfer out to D1 without having to sit a year.... Tech may have found their next 5th year senior.

Haack just has to graduate and I hope he would transfer. The kid is very good and never got a fair shake here.

If UL is held responsible for an assistant coach directing future players to take the ACT at a particular venue, then shouldn't the firm behind the ACT testing be held liable as well for having such a corrupt individual in charge of administering said test?

For all we know, there could be "cheating" test administrators at every location "helping" students to improve their test scores. Where does it stop?

I guarantee there are a bunch of hot shot recruiters crapping right now. No way this was the only guy with this kind of setup.

The NCAA has no jurisdiction over the testing firm.

If a student passes his ACT he can go virtually anywhere.

Why is this pre-Louisiana violation on the victim?

Not only that, but the NCAA had no idea.

Also, the test organization in question had no idea either.
Where is the NCAA Clearinghouse in all of this? They are holding up Simeon Thomas for a year and a half, yet found nothing odd about test scores for these guys?

Either you don't understand what the term " lack of institutional control" means or you know something the rest of us do not.

No they are not. You may not like it but this is the expectation of the NCAA. Every school does this and you can beat it isn't done blindly. If you seriously wanted our admin to go to the NCAA and say sorry but we think there should be no punishment then you were asking for us to throw in the towel and hand over our athletic dept.

If you disagree with the process then I agree but this isn't the time or place to fight a process that has been in place for decades.
