Thread: Criticism of Hudspeth's comments off base

  1. Default Criticism of Hudspeth's comments off base

Mark Hudspeth's comments didn't strike me as odd at all. They were totally expected.

    Great read.

Reading his comments again, I feel like they were directed internal to the athletic department as well. I still feel like it was his job to stop it...but I get it he has only so much control.

I'm over it but personally I would like to hear Coach Hud and his coaching staff start taking the blame and owning up to some of these bad losses.

I could be mistaken but this was the only loss I remember him not taking sole responsibility

I have never heard Hud do anything except take responsibility for a loss. In fact he did the same for this loss. Read Luke's blog...he says it plain as day.

"I told the players it was my fault for this happening, because I saw it coming. I just couldn’t stop it. I had to re-start practice on Tuesday because practice was sloppy. I saw this coming a mile away. I hate that it happened tonight because we take a lot of pride in playing well at home."

    His words not mine.

"Most of us are really good at casting stones when things don’t go as we expect.....Perhaps it’s our irrational perceptions of reality that need to be psychoanalyzed."

Two very revealing thoughts in the article.

I wasn't necessarily talking about the whole APC debacle but more of the of preparation, adjustments and play calling. Listen to his presser yesterday.

All I want to know is does an APC Disneyland high last for more than a week?

I watched the video and I think people hear what they want to hear. I hear coach say "we" quite a bit. While I don't know him personally i would bet the when he say "we" he means the team...coaches are part of the team. He also challenged the Offensive coaches to come up with better plays to get the play makers involved. Also was critical of the first two series on how they didn't try to establish the run.
