A lack of a quality strength and condition program and a lack of a quality coach to run the program!!

Who is the strength and conditioning coach for basketball?

Why even try to bring Courtney Wallace back for the last few games? He has only played in 6 games this season, couldn't he still get a medical red shirt?

Given the win-now mentality that the program has with Lee in his final year, I could see that as enough of a reason for Wallace to play again if healthy.

But from what I'm hearing, it will be unlikely that Wallace will play again this season - and maybe not next year, even if he gets a medical redshirt and is healthy.

As for his future: NCAA rules state that a student-athlete can receive a medical redshirt if he/she appears in fewer than 30 percent of the team's games. So he would be eligible for a redshirt if he did not return to action this season.

The same coach that you have for all of the other sports. Rob Phillips is the head coach and is a good coach. He can be directly linked to the improvements you've seen in recent years to the football players and their development. The problem with this team is not their conditioning coach. To think that is to take the blame someone else attitude that seems to blanket this program. The coaches put together a comprehensive, year round program for these guys. The fact is, these guys are young men in college and they simply do not put in the effort to get better physically. This has been stated on many fronts and I believe it.

Official report is that Wallace will be out three more weeks. If that is correct, why would he not want to play when he gets healty? Perhaps the injury is worse than we have been led to believe and he won't be healthy this year. Regarding the possibility of the medical redshirt if that occurs, perhaps he will graduate soon and wants to get on with life.

Mike: My sources tell me that Wallace has more than a sprained ACL. I've been told it's partially torn. That would put him out for the rest of the year.

A sprained knee is all I can get from Lee.

As for his future, Wallace is set to graduate this semester. He could seek a medical redshirt, but my sources say that he might be ready to move on to life after basketball. He's dealt with so many injuries over the past few years, so I wouldn't blame him if that's the case.

I'm just happy to see that Courtney has certain priorities that he's stuck with in his time here and although his basketball career is likely not what he envisioned due to the injuries, he will leave here with a degree.
