Again. Mistakes happen. I apologize for the oversight on the paper's part, but seriously y'all, not everything that happens is a slap in the face with intent to harm. That being said, if y'all have an issue with anything in the story, I'd be glad to hear the feedback there.

Everyone have a great weekend, and y'all feel free to send me a message on twitter with the locations of y'all's tailgates. I want to actually meet some of y'all this year.
-----In the past I have praised you for your military service and your excellent writing skills (I guess your wedding should be another)----My only beef and has always been about our name----I have been a player, coach, administrator, and fan since 1963!!! I can tell you that the name deal was a real hurt to our school and the reason why the final outcome came about was sick----MY purpose is that we have asked to be called athletically by the name Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns---one paper honors that and the other doesn't----a very simple deal and if using the suggested name is perfectly legal then WHY DON'T YOU----We complain about all other media that violate our request, why shouldn't we complain and not support your medium???

No Boomer you complain constantly about the Advocate and not the other media outlets. I've already noted that T-Joe is on the Advocate Advisory board so take it up with him. Instead of derailing so many threads would you at least start a new thread every time you want to _____ about this.

It's a game that should define how I'd like us to approach most opponents from here on out. Use the pass, with Brooks, to give our running game some space. The biggest test is on our pass blocking ability... no doubt. We should also use our sideline to sideline speed with jet sweeps and run the edges until Akron's defense unstacks the box... infused with plays for Brooks to fake the handoff and fire a shot downfield. We've got to get the full effect of Brooks and the barn burning speed we have... in preparation for the Tech game. Slow developing pass plays and running it up the gut are simply not an option.

The SF agents support is advertising that the athletic department receives revenue for the money---I don't know what the deal was with the Monroe game but I was told by the president that he wants us to use Louisiana and that it is lawful for athletics!!! Take a stance---I have one and that is to support the local paper for reasons mentioned!!! Does Luke submit every story as Louisiana for our name??? If he doesn't that might be a start!!!

Luke is here to write about Cajun Sports not to push our name agenda. That's our officials job and they dropped the ball.

I agree. We have blazing speed in Haynes, Fuse, and Eli. Need to get the ball to those guys in space, quickly. Then hit them on the deep high balls to Robinson and Barnes. Mixed in with Eli and Pierce in the zone read and designed runs....I'm not sure how anybody on the rest of schedule stops us. If our line continues to progress and as our defense gets used to having the wraps taken off...I can see us getting real good real quick. I'm as excited as I've been for a Cajun season to play out. I'm looking over my shoulder at that damn injury bug though...

---Ah, a quick check would see that it wasn't I that derailed this (apologies accepted)-----I guess the reason why the Advocate complaints are so often is that it is LOCAL---our radio, TV, and other newspaper refer to us athletically as Louisiana or UL and we know who's policy differs!!! i see the pres and talk to him about 3 times a year at sporting events, and will try to ask him these questions!!! I don't know why the papers, tv, and radio wouldn't ask him???

Oops Luke. Sorry for stirring up this ____ storm. Very early in the morning and I had just read another Boomer beotch session about the name issue. I need to remind myself not to post so early in the AM.

Carry on and great writing you do there.

Agreed for the teams sake. I'm wishing I had a game I cared about Saturday to watch though!

I guess CHS vs Patterson tonight will have to do...

So boycott the athletic department until Tjoe uses what we want to be called at every instance. Luke could put Louisiana all he wants and it will be edited.

Luke I think you do a superb job. Now to mistakes? That particular mistake would not happen if your paper did what we requested. Lafayette would never be involved. Additionally what we request is totally within the legal constraints placed on us.

You may or may not be Roman Catholic, but part of the confession is to avoid sin and "near occasions" of sin. Drop the Lafayette and that would get rid of the "near occasions". This mistake as you call it is always a moments inattention away.
