Of course it's only one game and time will tell, but I see a team that could be Hud's best yet when it's all said and done.
The second half last night just showed how well-conditioned we are. When we scored on that drive that tied the game at 33, Kentucky's d-linemen had their hands on their hips trying to catch their breath. And we had just sped up our tempo with Nixon in the game. It's moments like those where I have a deep appreciation for guys like Rusty Whitt.

    Overall....I always worry about depth

Absolutely! It seems like if we are able to stay healthy, we will be able to beat many of our future opponents into submission in the second half with superior conditioning and depth!

You hit on the #1 positive I took from that game, the conditioning of our athletes. I also liked the fact that our OL didn't give up a sack.

Good point. There was no question to me who the more physically dominating team was in the 2nd half. I think we will see this play out big time in the conference. I'm especially interested to see how we can wear Akron out in a few weeks...in the heat and humidity

While we didn't put up many points in the first half, we still moved the ball and kept our defense off the field. The TOP for this game was actually completely opposite of what we typically see in our first game against a P5 team where our defense is just on the field way too long as our offense is held in check. This game was different as we were able to move on them albeit not score many points because of turnovers. That preserved our defense later in the game and wore their D down in return.

Going forward these guys are going to make some noise. We have serious talent, and the young one are going to improve. Our kicking games going to be something special as is our quarterbacks. I think it could be a special season

Overall, imho, we were the better team last night. Take away that 1st run, the fumble on the 10, and holding penalty on the 1, and we win that game handily. Besides some good runs UK's mainly moved the ball in critical times by pass interference calls and that damn face mask at the end.

Look at the stats. We win out on almost every Stat but penalties and turnovers. But unfortunately it is difficult to win when that happens. Pretty amazing we dominated the time of possession.

I wish we won for sure but that was one of the best looking overall game we have had that I can remember. We are supposed to not be able to hold the jockstrap of the most lowly SEC team, and like I said, I think even with the loss we were the better looking team last night.

REALLY excited about the rest of the season. We play like last night the rest of the season and we don't loose another game.

Another thing I like last night. The entire broadcast was all about UL. We were at Kentucky and all the sportscasters ever were talking about were us. When they showed the sidelines it was always our guys and HUD. They cut to Stoops and the UK sideline rarely. It was like the UL show last night. I rewatched some of the game just now they showed HUD and our sideline, and talked about UL probaly 4:1 to UK.

It was awesome. I was loving it!
