Thread: Justin Hamilton

Some just want a shot. Others won’t stop taking them.

Ten Ragin’ Cajun seniors auditioned Monday in front about 30 scouts in advance of the May 8-10 NFL Draft, including at least five – receiver/return man Darryl Surgent, linebacker Justin Hamilton, defensive lineman Brandon McCray and tight ends Jacob Maxwell and Ian Thompson – with legitimate shots at landing in NFL camps later this year.

    Surgent’s 11-foot, 1-inch broad jump and 39-foot, 6-inch vertical, and Maxwell’s 38-6 vertical were among the afternoon’s highlights.

Goodness gracious a 39 foot vertical

Justin Hamilton has got to be the biggest linebacker in the country.

No Troy Weingerter and the staff refer to all former players as "Forever Cajuns".

Yes, I cannot stand it when I see Ex-Ragin Cajun, they are not an ex unless they were kicked off and run out of town or went to another school.

I am so proud of these young men and impressed with their attitudes and how they handle the media. There is no whiff of arrogance or hubris. They come off as confident, determined athletes with a genuine love of the game. I can think of nothing better to represent the university I love so much. Perhaps I should thank Hud, or the men themselves, or maybe it is a product of the wonderful culture that surrounds UL - or maybe all of the above - but I am grateful to have representatives like those reflected in this article.
