It is mostly accurate that teams that were keying on McGuire and kept his yards minimal were successful. Those teams were the better teams on our schedule. McGuire's yards were overly biased to the SBC games; OOC his stats were average at best......Ole Miss; Boise, LTURD's McGuire was mostly shut down and a non factor in those games.

Easy game plan for KY......sell out on McGuire and simply let the Cajuns fail to adjust until it's too late. Truth is we have proven that we don't adapt very well during the game. I'd say we are a notch better than terrible at changing with any quickness. We'll go through several possessions of failure before making any wholesale changes to what is happening. Often this has proven to be after we are behind by too big of a margin.

You must have missed Mcguires 100+ receiving yards at Boise. Of course Ole miss was able to shut him down. They'd have shut down Leveon Bell if he played that game with our offense in that mismatch. That's not a lnock on Eli. Remember when we shut down Ronnie Hillman by focusing solely on him? Hillman is still a stud, so is Eli.....

You must have missed Mcguires 100+ receiving yards at Boise. Of course Ole miss was able to shut him down. They'd have shut down Leveon Bell if he played that game with our offense in that mismatch. That's not a lnock on Eli. Remember when we shut down Ronnie Hillman by focusing solely on him? Hillman is still a stud, so is Eli.....

Seemed like we only ran McGuire up the middle the whole game and used him as our power back like we did with Harris. Not sure he is built for that kind of pounding every week. We didn't utilize his speed on the outside, only on a couple of pass routes. Hope we mix up the play calling going forward to better take advantage of his running ability and not let the defense key on stopping the run up the middle.

He's the biggest/strongest back we have. Somebody had to pound for tough yards against that defensive front. That was a big part of our being able to control the clock. in time I think we will see more rotation at running back.

I understand that, but we never mixed any outside runs against that defensive front that I recall. Would have been nice to see him on the edge and not just up the middle all night.
