    Treasure hunters are garbage men.

Very sure Robe and the players impact the revenue for UL a lot better than Marlin. Net loss or profit I'm talking about.
Whats your basis for saying "Very sure Robe and the players impact the revenue for UL a lot better than Marlin. Net loss or profit I'm talking about."?

But that is just me. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for Marlin. But in the end, if Robe is happy with his compensation deal, I guess it all good.
Yes Tony just got a raise. However his raise doesn't come close to marlins old salary. Guess my assumption is...it postseason doesn't really matter. We have made it to the "real" postseason in basketball once under marlin. I don't care about the end of the yr regional tournament because that's not the postseason. Tony is underpaid. Period. He's better than the sunbelt salary comparison. And so are his assistants. Therefore they should be paid that way

Robe brings in a lot more revenue. Get your own FOI for proof.

I've been one of the most vocal Marlin supporters.

I think this should have waited till after this season.

The person that has invested their time in him, gives him criticism and discusses measures to improve his performance. Do you know who does that for every athletic admin in this great nation? The fans. And whether people think so or not, every coach and every athletic admin retains or loses his/their job directly due to fans. Everyone has a boss in this life. We are a diverse group of fans. And there are those that do dad's job, and there are those that do mom's job. Maybe the moms on here aren't doing their job and showing their love for the admin. It's probably because they're spending too much time riding the dads' asses. Personally, I think our admin children are growing up fine. They're arrogant teenagers that don't think mom and dad are their bosses anymore, but watch and see if they don't come asking us for some money.
J1M, first I'm not mad (you gotta have thick skin to post on this site, am I right!?) and let me also say that I've learned much from your posts on all topics. Very insightful. I try not to post, unless I I feel I have something worthy to add. That said, I think I see now how some of us here get sideways with each other. You either misread what I said, or you read what you wanted to read or misinterpreted what I said. Go back and read it again. Do I ever use the word "player"? No, I use the word "team" in all instances. It's a team game. I totally agree with your player analogy, but that wasn't the point I was making. I support my team, even when mistakes are made, because we all make them and significant progress has been made.

Wearing your thickest skin can prevent you from pulling out your sharpest fangs.

You know, I went back and read your post again... and I did misinterpret you. My apologies. My response wasn't wrong insomuch as it was a wrong reply to you. I do see your point. I do think the harshest of admin critics probably believe they support the admin's good works in other ways. But there's no doubt, it might be a healthy practice on here to preface more of these jugular attacks with... "but I do think you have a lovely neck".

We must be expecting a huge basketball season. Hope so. Can't help but wonder what Coach Marlin would fetch on open market after making NCAAs again.

Good point. I looked at from the angle of what if he doesn't meet expectations.

If he does meet expectations, big boys will have to pony up.

Exactly right. I deal with employee compensation a lot in my work and this is how it typically works in corp America
