I'm happy for Coach Marlin! He is building the program the right way and for long term success. The best is yet to come!

In coach Robs case. It is said that he is a home boy and not thinking of leaving. He is satisfied where he is at. Don't you think that puts a hamper on him getting top dollars. If I am paying him and that is his position, I can say hell he's not going any where, he is satisfied what he is making so forget about a raise in salary.....let's hope that's not the case. I only say this because of what I read into Crawfish's post......
Robe just got a raise didn't he?
UL — Louisiana and basketball coach Bob Marlin have reached an agreement on a five-year contract extension that will keep Marlin in place through the 2019-20 season. The contract is still pending system approval and will be voted on next...
UL basketball coach Bob Marlin has agreed to terms on a five-year, $2.5 million contract extension with the school
Why so defensive? I didn't get where you are coming from, that's all. I will judge if the extension is good or bad, after I see the details of the agreement once its approved. If the athletic department received something in return, such as a reduction in his buyout for the extension, then I would consider that a good trade off. Now if UL gets nothing in return for extending the coach for another season, then I want to look at the other details of the agreement.
I don't get what Bob Marlin has done to deserve a $100K contract much less close to half million? I think to have earned that contract he should have us in the final 32 every year and sweet 16 every once in a while. We don't even smell that.
The Cajun basketball community is happy with getting players on national teams and playing in third tier tournaments at the end of the season. I don't care about Shawn King or the fact that Payton played here. How many sweet 16 appearances do we have under Marlin?
You have to admit Sean King was a pretty good player.
