Jordan Wallace of course has zero time under fire.

IMO there will be a starter vs Kentucky by need, but I am not about to believe this starter will be the final choice, it was not in Hud's first year.
Jordan Wallace has a lot of time under fire. But I don't think she has any eligibility left. I haven't heard she's been in fall football practice, and didn't know she was competing for a starting QB spot. That's incredible! Is she throwing the football underhanded? I just don't see it working out. The OL height alone will make her have to release the football between linemen. I do think she'd put some zip on the football. But how would she let the WR know she's throwing a rise ball or a drop ball? Is she even that mobile? She's always worked off a mound with a straight line motion. I'm struggling to see Hud's logic on this one. Is this a TitleIX thing? Will we have a separate locker room area for her? This is really radical. What is Hud thinking!?

    Thinking outside the box.

Isn't that what this athletic department is all about??

Right. Probably eluding to the fact that he's versatile. Don't expect every great athlete to be the second coming of Eli. We get guys like him once in a generation.

It would be pretty odd to have him start against Kentucky... no matter how much better he is. I never saw that happening. Brooks and Jalen would have to seriously regress to allow a freshman to leap them as a starter. Regardless, Hud creating a competition to get them all mentally ready to take the helm... is really good. I believe Hud had to cut it to two at this point. He's also going to cut it to one in the next week or so. It may not be announced, and it may not be clear from practice... but he will have a starter in his head.

We are going to see the #2 QB in action this year. I have no doubt about that. And #3 better be ready at a moment's notice.

Yeah...DA definitely needs to find someone more competent than Buckley to cover our teams. Hell, if the Baton Rouge paper was able to assign someone as good as Luke, imagine what the "hometowns" paper should be able to get to cover the hometown team.

Should.,.if the Daily Rag actually gave a ____.

While Nixon did put in a solid effort in one series in the Nola, Brooks has showed more promise outside of the USA debacle. Brooks showed a ton of composure getting thrown into the Ga St game. UL was on the verge of losing that game until Haack orchestrated a scoring drive. I think that particular drive says a lot about the young man. Nixon's Nola bowl performance was a package that was thoroughly scripted and practiced prior to the game. While Haack was called off the bench, when the Cajuns was losing late in the game and still managed to lead a scoring drive. That showed a lot of character and talent.

As for Ray, if Hud truly plans for him to play QB for the cajuns then I would think it would be a waste for him to burn his redshirt for spot duty at another position.

I want the best passer to be the starter, whoever that may be. To soften up a defense you have to be able to pass down the field and keep the defense guessing. I love being able to run the ball because that's a vital part in keeping a lead and winning in the 4th qtr, but it doesn't have to be the QB. Passing gives us the chance to pull out wins where we might not match up athletically up front, and it helps you catch up when behind. We have enough players with break away speed to throw the ball down field some. We need the most accurate passer to get it to them. (my .02)
