Or who you can afford. Its clear they had to find money to make this hire and they were only going to pay in a certain salary range to make this hire happen.

If you are referring to qualified candidates then just know that likr Jay out of respect for their current positions I won't bust them out. But I know of 6 of the final 12 and apparently who I consider to be more qualified were gonna cost more than we are willing to pay.

If you are referring to the entire list of applicants and that info being harder to come by, then I can't really get more info than I already have.

Well their pick is IMO less qualified than Hale. If I believed they were picking Harris as the best then, yes I don't need to know the other names.

Actually there may be many more like Hale. We all know Scott FormerAD would be uncomfortable with that.

We were led to believe this new RCAF would be separated from UL. It's not, t-jo still holds all the power. No doubt I can see these board members having ample reasons to do the of FirmerAD, and t-jo's bidding.

Cajun4Life, you fought a good fight. I and assuming many others genuinely appreciate the knowledge you shared over the course of the hiring.

But you are ____ing in the wind now. Unless your buddies on the inside speak up like you said they would, it's pointless to continue this debate.

Silence by your buddies = they are happy enough with the decision. You should be, too.

The Hale camp thinks he's better qualified than Harris. The rest placed their trust in the board to select the best candidate... Harris. The other candidates have no supporters. Why ask about them? This is strictly a Hale versus Harris thing. And we're not converging on a happy ending on here, no matter. Let's just let Harris do his job and report on the progress.

We all know UL chooses to operate these kind of processes out of the public eye. When you do that, your decisions must be perfect, or else you get destroyed. You either take the heat in the open view, or you must be perfect. There's no middle ground for public people. You, for instance, do your job with 100% public scrutiny, as you do your work. You take your criticism in small bites. Those that have public assignments, and try to hide their process, get destroyed when they aren't perfect. And I applaud that. Public transparency... or perfection. If one doesn't like those boundaries... go private.

I have stated several time that I am 100% behind Harris. Even though I think the process was bull____.

Then you have Jay Walker selling this guy on all the thing he tried to downplay about Steve Hale. Lipstick on a pig maybe?

Harris needs to find $8 million for the Tigue Moore renovation. We have $5 million pledged supposedly. Well I'll help him out, Jonathon Lucroy, BJ Ryan, Danny Fouquior, Paul Bako, Gill Meche and Greg Landry are all baseball people with direct ties to the program or Lafayette. Between those 6 names they have close to $200 million in MLB contracts.

I promise you, things will play out and we will move on.

I wonder how long it will be before anyone can make points without bringing up Steve Hale's name. (Although you named him here, I"m not talking about you.)

The process has been completed. We have a hire.

So many on this board have said they'll support whoever was hired because they want UL to succeed.

Yet it's very difficult for them to make a point without bringing up Steve Hale.

It makes me wonder just how much they truly want to move on.
