You call what people post as BS... because you haven't read it in your select news sources yet. If you think that everything that happens in this world is documented somewhere... you're not much of thinking man. No... actually people that knew Steve Hale brought him up on here and tried to promote him being interviewed. Others, like yourself, that knew absolutely nothing about Steve Hale attempted to down rate him. It's not lost on me that you feigned innocence in creating this poll as a natural follow up to the hire... and shortly thereafter have ignorantly attempted to parallel it to what transpired with Hale. I don't see you as a shill for this administration. I see you as needing attention. You deliberately place yourself as a counter to many arguments on this forum, with absolutely no knowledge on the subject matter. When a person does that, they need to accept the personal abuse it brings them. Carry on...

I am going to post this one more time....the Board made its decision....we have to live with it and hope for success.....no one but no one wanted Steve to get this job more than me. HE has moved on and he loves the Cajun fans and UL and wishes nothing but the best for us. I know of no one on this fan board who does not want the best for our University and it's Athletic Dept. I was privileged enough to work side by side with Steve on Coach Stokleys staff in the late 1980's. He has been a good friend of mine for 29 years. I am moving on from this and I ask every UL fan to do the same....Geaux Cajuns

First of all, the idea for a poll was actually Man About Town's:

I thought that was a great idea, which is why I made a poll. Believe it or not, it's the ONLY reason why I made a poll.

Second, I've had nothing but good things to say about Steve Hale the entire time. I never doubted that he's everything everyone said he was. After listening to his interview, I said I thought he's a great guy, he's very knowledgeable about the college football world, and I'd absolutely love to have him working at UL in some capacity. Don't pretend like I ever said otherwise.

Why do I ask so many questions of people who claim to be "in the know?" Well it's because at the end of the day, most of what the "in the know" guys say ends up being pure BS.

Here's just a sample of the things that have been alleged in the past three weeks by people who claim to be "in the know."

[X] Steve Hale was not going to be hired.
[?] Farmer was doing the hiring for this position.
[ ] Hud wants Hale hired, and he'll leave the program if Steve Hale is not hired.
[ ] A good ol' boy who knows Farmer and/or T-Joe will be hired.
[ ] The person who is hired will not have an impressive resume.
[ ] A host of RCAF members will resign if Hale is not hired.
[ ] The hire will come from an FCS or SWAC program.
[ ] Steve Hale was asked to apply so "the fix would be in for a good ol' boy."

All these things were alleged by people who claimed to be "in the know" about what was taking place, and only one has proven to be true. Now do you understand why I'll usually question the things that are said around here? It's because the vast majority of it ends up being nonsense.

BB, I apologize sincerely, but its impossible for me to let this poisonous individual cloud the waters without responding.

Not a single person here claimed that. We all said he was sifting through resumes and sat in on the interviews. He admitted as much.

Not a single person said this. Hud did want Hale, and I personally INSINUATED that his hiring of a second agent could mean he was looking else where. That could not be possibly proven anytime soon.

The guy we all wanted blew away everyone under the sound of his voice. Harris had a press conference and not a single person reported their experience as "blown away".

This will happen, mark my words. Again, this could not POSSIBLY be proven hours after the hire.

Not a single person said that. The only time this came up was when one of your leaders leaked it because he's a moron who likes attention, like you.

I could not help it. The person behind this screen name is a miserable, poisonous individual who does nothing to progress us, only comes here to stir, as J1M stated. I'm confident no one takes this little man seriously, other than the small minds that think in a similar pattern, so I'm not too concerned about his influence. I just couldn't hold it anymore.

That's correct. Although a couple of accusations that seeped into the saga were unfounded, most were not. A couple of people on RP had contact with people directly involved. They are honorable men and don't make up things. It's unfortunate, but for some things to get revealed, it would have put people in not just awkward positions... but it may not have been healthy overall for our program. They chose correctly. Nonetheless, yelling "nonsense" with no evidence to the contrary isn't a broad thinker's methods.

If someone tells me something that isn't implausible, asking them for more details is normal. What isn't normal (unless they're defaming you personally) is to say they're wrong without providing evidence of your own. Much of what was claimed in this ordeal was/is true. And several things, like so much from our leadership, will remain in the shadows.
