None of us had any idea about naming rights before Hale got here. Glad he mentioned it.
Well since you decided to bring him up yet again, at least he has a record of successfully getting a contract in the naming rights game.
Didn't we sell naming rights for the Athletic Complex to COX a long time ago? And haven't we sold naming rights to gates around Cajun Field and the Atheltic Complex? I'm pretty sure we've known that naming rights can generate revenue for a long time now.
It was never a matter of knowing the value of selling naming rights. It's about maximizing the deal. Only a select few know how to go out and capture a great deal for us... for stadium naming rights. If I were on the other end of the naming rights opportunity, I'd want to know when the stadium improvements are pinned to happen. I would not want to find out that the university president could limit the state funds for athletics by the amount I gave for stadium naming rights... when the deal I'm making is incumbent upon the university to maximize the visibility of the football stadium and my name. We have a lot to learn at this university about private people/companies and what motivates them. The first order of business is to remove the public people from a private person's view.
How in the hell would I know that, I did not review resumes are conduct interviews. Unlike most here I trust the qualified, successful , long time supporters on the RCAF board to make the right decision. These are documented successful people, who are be holding to know one
I don't think this is what Hud was talking about but we definitely ain't letting go of this rope.
