So where does this thread stand compared to the flood thread? I'm doing my part....need the Bandwagon King to kick this thing into another level.
I don't even know where Kyle would fall in this thread. Normally...Kyle threads get sidelined. I don't want this thread sidelined.

You know what's pretty funny when you think about:

We're all telling others how to do their job when we all (myself certainly included) spend a lot of time on this site during business hours.

I do agree he is way above the pay grade of the person running the athletic department today and is considered a threat long term to his position at this university.

It should be clear to all now this has nothing to do with his resume, but personalities.

    1) We have a athletic director that has stated and continues to state that we can do everything we need to do within the SBC to help ourselves in conference realignment. And contends that we are the best kept secret in NCAA sports.

*Steve stated last night that to many of the movers and shakers around college football, say you are judged by the company you keep. He also stated that if your program is the best kept secret in college sports, then your brand is not is good is you think.

    2) Our athletic director and conference commissioner have both stated that if conference programs schedule well and run the table going 12-0, there would be a good chance that team will get an invitation to the Access Bowl or NCAA Championship Playoffs.

*Steve Hale stated last night that Benson's comments are proof that he is not living in reality. He stated a SBC team has no chance to be in the Access Bowl and a number of publications including Athlon and USA Today has stated the same thing.

*Our AD and RCAF have stated publicly that they are look to raise $X amount of dollars to fundraise. But they have yet to divulge what that number is right now.

*Steve Hale stated that starting a successful fundraising campaign doesn't begin with just focusing on a specific number, but understanding that assets you have beginning with championship caliber coaches. He said Louisiana Tech gets it because they have used guys like Karl Malone, Willie Roaf and Terry Bradshaw to help raise awareness of their athletic program and their brand nationally.

There is no doubt in my mind now that the new RCAF Fundraiser will be hired to work under Scott Farmer and not along side of him. And as stated by the original job description posted, report to Mr. Blohm and the RCAF Executive Committee. Once he or she is hired, they will also hire an assistant for the RCAF Fundraiser and all fundraising will fall under a separate department.

I have no doubt that the new fundraiser will be highly qualified for the position. But hiring a fundraiser simply address completing the facility plans. It does not address other important factors like marketing or branding nationally, putting together a long term strategic plan for conference realignment, contracting future schedules through contacts (home games) with other top programs besides Boise State, dealing with future television negotiations specifically with the move to pay for streaming and pay per view in the near future. Those are just a few aspects that will not be handled by the new fundraiser, but by the person that is currently handling those responsibilities today.
i think if we go 12-0 we get in the access bowl. the access bowl is not the playoff, there is a big differnce. there is a spot saved for the top G5 program in the access bowl, if we are 12-0 i believe we are there.

It's not gonna happen in the Sun Belt. Had Marshall won their last regular season CUSA game and finished undefeated they would have been left out as well. Boise had the better schedule and would have still surpassed them in the BCS rankings.

    It all depends.

12-0 from the MAC, CUSA, or the SBC only gets in if the MWC or the AAC representative has 2 or more losses.

To say the SBC champ would never make it is strictly conjecture based on the facts that no SBC school has ever even flirted with being in position to test the theory, and the SBC's most similar conference mate, the MAC, had a school with a loss make it, NIU.

Based on what has happened in the recent past, it is entirely plausible for an undefeated SBC school to make the Access Bowl if the AAC or MWC schools each have 2 or more losses.
