Starting to feel bad for the new hire guy. None of this was of his doing....meanwhile his future new bosses in Savioe/Farmer already threw him under the bus. Maybe there was time to do a little backspace crawfishing over that 2 week notice.
He didn't call Benson any derogatory names...he just made a pragmatic statement about where the Sun Belt is in the pecking order. Even Karl Benson has to realize he is coaching the bad news bears, so to speak. It's all about marketing yourself. If you are Karl Benson coming out and saying what he said about a Belt team making the CFP...if you are the commish...you have to say such things. How much faith would you inspire saying...guys we have no chance at all?
I see nothing wrong with Hale's comments. The hard truth has to be conveyed. If anyone has to say it...how about the guy who is trying to raise money to get us out of this ____ hole conference.
Express, I frankly don't care if I ____ them off. But in any event, my call for $1=1 Vote would keep many of them on the board, just not beholden to the President for that job. IMO, the same board we have now, if elected by donors rather than appointed by the President, would be immeasurably more effective in achieving progress for the University.
VO -
I think many of us agree on the admin's failure to interview Hale. However, your suggestion that Dr. Savoie does not want to see the University progress is asinine and contradicts all the progress since he was hired.
this is so true VO, our leaders keep taking the wind out of our sails, how will we ever stop this !!!!!
Coastal Carolina. Last week the President and the AD openly stated in the local newspaper that the conference they are in no longer meets their needs and they would love to pursue membership in the Sun Belt.
Texas A&M, Nebraska. Both publicly trashed the Big XII in MANY instances on multiple platforms and publicly stated they would leave at the earliest good fit opportunity.
Happens all the time.
Coastal. I think moving up a division is not putting down the conference you are in, they are trying to transition from FCS to FBS.
A&M and Nebraska, were those things they said after they found new homes in different conferences, or while they were still active in the BIG XII. youll have to provide examples.
