1st....love you Man About Town. You did what was right. You will always be in my own little hall of fame for fighting for a just cause.

    2nd..
guess we do need to start the "Fire Farmer Now" petition.....someone mentioned it in jest a few days ago. But it is needed......it truly is needed.

I will happily sign this one too. Proud to be one of the 48 that signed the Interview Steve Hale petition. Have a hunch a few more signature may be forthcoming.

Farmer is a disposable minion. To quote Cajunhawk in an earlier thread: 'The fish rots from the head.'

Coach Mike's thoughts are clear. He raised over 300k for indoor batting cages. Coaches should not have that responsibility at a college of this level. They should just ask and fundraising department should deliver

Duggie85, I did this interview for several reasons. 1) For those that questioned this man's qualifications openly on this forum and wanted to hear more information about his background outside his supporters on this forum. Who better to answer those questions then he? 2) To answer the questions in regards to his interest in this program and motivation in meeting with the RCAF Board members, and there were more then several. He specifically stated they were meetings, not interviews because there was no official job description at the time.

The guy was completely professional and didn't attack anyone personally. Nor did I send him specific questions that I was going to ask, he offered discussion topics and I declined. But why would someone with his background in speaking to conference commissioners, ESPN personalities, football boaster clubs, Tim Brando and has solicited corporate donors need to 2 days to prepare for this interview? I'm shocked you made that statement because I believe you had been pretty fair in your questions.

Let me add this here as well, he told me after the show that he was told he shouldn't do it. Now why would someone be scared of something this man had to say? So much for conspiracy theories! BTW, he wouldn't tell me who made that request. The guy is a professional, something none of us are use to hearing around this program. Tonight you heard it.

The most important thing we can do at this point is push to remove T-Joe ' s control of the RCAF Board. Positions should be voted upon by the membership, $1=1 vote. That way the board is subject to university oversight, but answers to the donors, not the school.

Thanks for posting. Just listened and I was very impressed. I liked his candor about where we are and where we could/should be. If this guy wasn't "qualified" for this position, then the guy who is hired should be THE MAN. However, like others, I am legitimately fearful that those in charge really don't want change...I think that is a real possibility and IF that is true, a travesty

I signed the first and will gladly sign the second! Its time for action because once Hud leaves we are going to be up ____ creek! We need a loser leaves town Old School MidSouth wrestling match between Hud and Farmer.

That he shouldn't do it? What were they gonna do? Not interview him?

Believe me when I tell you that there are members of the RCAF board watching this thread. I would hope that they would join us in pushing for real separation of RCAF, and facilitate that separation by demanding a change in the bylaws to mandate that board members be elected by the membership, rather than appointed by the president.

I believe at this point that the hire has been made but Farmer is too scared (due to the fact that he has no spine) about the backlash that will ensue after the choice is revealed to the public.

And now that Hale just said EVERYTHING that EVERY cajun fan has ALWAYS wanted to hear from the UL athletic department (other than those fans that would rather go back to the Baldwin years due to the current parking situation) and knowing that this guy really cares for UL and wanted to work for RCAF but was passed over......this will not end well.

When the new hire is introduced I expect the backlash directed towards Farmer to be greater than anything he has experienced for any of his other blunders that set back or nearly set back UL athletics.

Worse than when he tried to run off Lotief by lieing and disrespecting him.

Worst than when his ego made him think that he could play hardball with Hud when he asked for UL to match what Tulane offered.

Way worse than the "bad decision" made which prevented COX TV deal.

Worse than when he told football coaches to go screw themselves when they asked where their bowl game bonus was rather than looking for a solution like an actual athletic director would have done.

You get the idea. When a typical good ol' boy hire is introduced who is comfortable where UL is at right now and prefers silent fundraising with no accountability the proverbial _____ NEEDS TO HIT THE FAN AND LAND ON FARMER'S DESK!

That was Farmer's only leverage....Farmer's worst nightmare just came true. Cant hire anyone who could in one hour highlight just how inept you have been without once mentioning anyone's name or actions.

The conference ignorance and inactions of our AD were that visable
