Thread: Steve Hale Interview

If true that the Assistant AD is investigating who started the petition, that is sad. With all the shortcomings and problems that this administration has along with the constant refrain of how short handed and overworked they are...to be spending his time, presumably while on the clock, trying to track that down is absurd at best. And what does he intend to do with the information if and when he gets it?

Man, if this admin and its defenders would put as much effort into pursuing CUSA membership as they seem to do in damage control and worrying about what is said about them on RP we would likely now be speculating about the possibilities of moving from CUSA to the AAC.

He specifically stated they were meetings, not interviews because there was no official job description at the time.

The guy was completely professional and didn't attack anyone personally. Nor did I send him specific questions that I was going to ask, he offered discussion topics and I declined. But why would someone with his background in speaking to conference commissioners, ESPN personalities, football boaster clubs, Tim Brando and has solicited corporate donors need to 2 days to prepare for this interview? I'm shocked you made that statement because I believe you had been pretty fair in your questions.

Let me add this here as well, he told me after the show that he was told he shouldn't do it. Now why would someone be scared of something this man had to say? So much for conspiracy theories! BTW, he wouldn't tell me who made that request. The guy is a professional, something none of us are use to hearing around this program. Tonight you heard it.
BJ, just listened to your interview with Mr. Hale, and it BLEW ME AWAY!! Can ANYONE who really listened to what he had to say and still be comfortable with the direction of our athletics?? Maybe this will cause a needed groundswell in the right direction! Thank You, Brother!!

Or even scarier, how incompetent and disconnected do you have to be to not be able figure it out? If you were really trying?

This is 100% true T. I received a phone call this morning. My reply was "its not hard to figure out". You would laugh if you knew who they were blaming.. a barnyard musical with these people.

Its really kind of disappointing. Not surprising but disappointing. The good news is with the current economy in Lafayette I was worried about having to donate more than I am currently. That being said I was willing to up my donation if the didn't screw the pooch.

Its pretty obvious that not only have they screwed the pooch but they don't care if the public knows it. I'll keep donating my minimum.

I also want to highlight something else. Even though Turbine is probably not happy with me right now, I want to expound upon how valuable and important Ragin Pagin is to the fanbase. Without this outlet, much of this would not be possible. Again thank you Turb, sorry for the chaos, but I will be upping my yearly donation to RP substantially this year, especially if Steve Hale ends up getting his day, as promised!

Shameless plug, the petition is getting a ton of traffic this morning and signees are piling up today. Keep it up people.

OK, you can stop laughing at me now!
I plan to invite someone from the athletic administration on the show once the hire is announced. At that point, I hope to have the new fund raiser on the show and allow him the same courtesy to discuss his background and fundraising ideas or concepts. At this point, I don't expect any new information to be shared by the athletic department in an interview until after the hire. The assistant athletic director was recently a guest on program at another station and really had nothing new to share.
