There is one neighborhood in Abbeville that is prone to flooding even without a storm surge from a hurricane, but because of a grant, that flooding problem may be slowed down.

The neighborhood on Pine Street, along side of Lowe’s, has always had flooding problems. A strong rain is no stranger to flooding the roads in this neighborhood.

When a storm surge from a hurricane is expected to flood south Louisiana, it is not just residents who live in Erath, Henry and the Delcambre area who worry. Those who live on Pine Street also begin preparing for a flood.
