Thread: Shooting at the Grand theater on Johnston.........

  1. Default Re: Shooting at the Grand theater on Johnston.........

Praying none of y'all's family or friends were affected by this tragic event.

I never would have expected something like this to happen in Louisiana. I am N. Louisiana born and bred. Lived there for 37 years and have friends in S. Louisiana. All Louisianans I know or have encountered are all upfront people that love life. This really saddens me that someone in our great state could do such a thing.

The shooter was a vagrant from Alabama according to news reports. It's just sad that two beautiful young ladies had to lose their life for that dipchit.

My daughter's best friend was watching the movie in that theatre when the shooting starting. Fortunately, she was sitting in the front of the theatre and was able to escape without injury. Another of her friends was shot twice and sustained a broken leg. She is in critical condition but stable.

Jillian was a beautifully talented person, we finished at UL together in a very small class of fine arts graduates. She never hesitated even one second to respectfully let me know an idea I had was bull____, and it pushed me to work harder. My work is better because of it. Another thing I admired was her ability to take the lead. She wanted our neighborhood to be safer ao she took the steps to create one. We weren't close friends after school, more just professional acquaintances, but I wanted to let the board know that we lost an up and coming talent, a mover and a shaker in the community and an all around beautiful person.

This needs to be repeated. this scumbag was NOT a son of Louisiana.
I would like to pass along my condolences to the friends, & family members of the injured, as well as the lovely deceased ladies who tragically lost their lives in this cowardly hideous idiotic act of colossal stupidity.

I would also like to congratulate the quick thinking nameless heroic teacher who risked her life by getting to the fire alarm, & pulling it to get as many other patrons out of the theater as soon as possible, most likely saving dozens of others from being shot needlessly. It is my understanding following the story, that she & her friend were both very heroic in their deeds. And their quick action shows what the heart, & courage of the Lafayette community represents.

Very well said BWK. Great leadership from our officials and our community. Makes me very proud.

Edit: ____ off who ever gave me a negative rep for this comment.
