I don't want to start a new thread on this topic.
Someone please explain to me this "3rd tier TV rights" to me.
What are they?
How did we sign them away?
Why did we do this?
I would like to add...
How does anyone know Farmer or anyone else gave them away?
Did any other Sunbelt school keep said rights?
Did the ESPN deal come to a vote of SBC schools and what was needed to pass?
Could have anyone stopped the ESPN deal?
Not trying to start anything...just want to educate myself on what may have happened. Because it sounds to me like if Cox wouldn't be in Cali the network would still be up.
Farmer gave away our rights for negotiating our own television deals. That is why there is no more Ragin Cajun network. Why the Cox 14 State 100+ games a year package didnt happen. We had (literally) a smaller version of the Longhorn Network ready to go marketing the UL/Louisiana brand.....Farmer himself killed it all by handing over these rights to ESPN/Sunbelt without ever knowing as AD what it was he gave away. Gross incompetence.
Dude... .it is right in front of everyone, it is why the Ragin Cajun Network out of the blue disappeared.
