"The Sun Belt may be 18 months away “from trying to renegotiate our existing agreements” with ESPN, conference commissioner Karl Benson said earlier this week."

Is that the same Karl Benson who insisted to me that TV contracts could not be renegotiated? What a ____ing tool.

Did he have a choice? I don't think schools can opt out of their conference's TV contracts.

We had the choice to not give the conference our third tier rights.

Reason # 213: Why Farmer needs to go North to ULM (or anywhere else)

Our AD has failed miserably every time a major exposure sitation has occurred. Out manuvered in every conference expansion. Then this multi-million (over life of contract) blunder with massive exposure in SE markets.

Dude cost UL in cash flow and an incredible market exposure opportunity......and he is not fired?????

    Pathetic

You do realize that those tactics are why many are cutting the cord with cable tv?

I don't want to start a new thread on this topic.

Someone please explain to me this "3rd tier TV rights" to me.

    What are they?
How did we sign them away?
    Why did we do this?
