Somehow, the Fleur de Lis is considered by some as racist, which is a ridiculous assertion. It is a good symbol and unique to south Louisiana. Today's screwed up world may cause your administration to be wary of using it, as unfortunate as that would be.

You are so obviously passive aggressive. It's unfortunate that you haven't moved more towards authentic, assertive communication. The fluer de lis is a Louisiana symbol of pride, but you already know that.

We are committed to the FDL. Check out pictures of our newly renovated Quadrangle on another thread and the FDL in the middle of it. This is one thing our administration is not backing off of.

The FDL is associated with slave owners in NOLA only.

IMO this has no legs and will not be an issue. The FDL is used globally.

No we wouldn't. This would be a similar situation as Florida using "The Swamp" after we did.

Nobody would know or care that Louisiana College has a uniformed, sorry looking dog that is supposed to be a Catahoula.

Louisiana College are wildcats. Maybe that's why their hound is pathetic. Your post reminds me of the day my brother declared IHOP were terrible restaurants, their steaks were just awful he said with a straight face.

The Centanary Gents & Ladies introduced the Hound around 2007-09.

We'd be subject to ridicule, claim jumping an NAIA or whatever division they compete in now.

I think it's very difficult to asses someone's personality type from a sports blog & I think he's messing with you a little. 😄
I've never heard of the FDL as a racist symbol & most Louisianaians don't view it like that. If anything, the FDL is WAAaaaaaay overused now from bumper stickers to home accents.

Fixed that for you..every article I have seen written about this has quoted one professor claiming it's racist and offends him. In my opinion, the people who write about this is giving this clown exactly what he wants. Conservative websites need to ignore him and not give him his 15 seconds, but of course these sites want the clicks too.
