That's cool. Hadn't heard Lafayette has a Brazilian grill. That's an ideal add to Lafayette. I haven't been to the Whole Foods in Lafayette, but my family says its a big disappointment over the other Whole Foods (far less stuff). It's hard to believe Lafayette wouldn't consume a full scale WF. You either scale it up and capture that patronage or you don't bother.
This is what I don't get about the Whole Foods in Lafayette.
Texas: No to-go adult beverages from restaurants/bars allowed. However, I can order a beer at the Whole Foods bar, then walk around continuing my shopping while enjoying my beer.
Louisiana: Drive-thru daiquiri places all over. Most Lafayette/Acadiana restaurants and bars will allow you to order drinks to-go. However, at the Lafayette Whole Foods, you must remain in the bar area with your beer. You cannot continue your shopping.
That dry-aged ribeye from Whole Foods, though... definitely worth the money purchasing to sear at home.
Took my wife to Texas de Brazil in BR with her sister and brother-in-law for our anniversary. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal! Knew the bill would be huge--$45/person not counting drinks, but found their bar VERY overpriced! Saw that Rodizio is priced at $33/person, so we'll be going SOON!
I've been to both: if you liked Texas DB, you will feel the same about Rodizio.....plus, it's in LFT, and owned by a great former Ragin Cajun pitcher! Definetly a win-win situation.
But the first one I went to was Fogo de Chão in dfw........many may years ago, lol.
I think they were the first to bring the whole 'churrasco' experience to the U.S. And there is one in Houston now, and a bunch in Florida. Good stuff....
Veal Michael at Ruffino's is awesome. Also try the Angels Envy bourbon with the veal.
