  1. UL Basketball Marlin beaming about Long, recruiting class

The Louisiana basketball coaching staff was touring the program's facilities several months ago with a couple of prospects when they arrived at the team's practice facility and were later met by a beaming head coach Bob Marlin.

Awesome coaches, simply Awesome! Thanks again Shawn, Cajun Nation thinks you made the right move and are hoping and praying for you to be a 1st rounder in the 2016 NBA Draft!

Nice. I am really interested to see how Plaisance pans out this year?!!!!

This has a chance to be a very deep team. As deep as we've had since I can remember.

I was thinking the same thing, Jay. We have had teams with more talent in the starting 5, but this group is potentially very deep in good to very good players.

I'm especially excited about the size we will have down low. I'm hopeful it can open up Shawn's range - he can be really dangerous when he's a threat both down low and on the perimeter.

Also interested to see how Wright, Washington, and Stove have developed. They all improved dramatically last season before our eyes. I think Washington is going to be devastating to opposing teams this year - either he or our bigs will have a mismatch in most of our games

Don't be surprised if the JC transfer 6' 11" (forgot his name) is red shirted this year to allow him to bulk up like Plaisance did last year.

Would not surprise me at all if we do. We do have the luxury of having 3 guys that are 6'10" or taller.

Just think if Long was a little more quick and athletic. He could get some time at the 3 with the other big men on the floor. I think having a lineup like that would give teams trouble.

If everyone enjoyed watching Washington develop during the year, they are going to love 6-6 forward Jerekius Davis! He is more of a wing, but this kid can play.

Who is going to get Bryce Washington off the floor? The guy is a stud, and he will only get better with experience.

Long made the first cut to 16 for the Pan Am games. Next cut is to 12
