If both teams come into the game with mediocre records, LaTech will be more than glad to accommodate the entire Pride of Acadiana marching band. They'll want to pad the attendance any way they can.
True. I'd like to see the PoA there. But Dre is probably right that we have to use our allotment. I have no idea how all of that works (whether we request more and Tech accommodates or what). I can't imagine that Tech will need the tickets. They've never sold out their current capacity.

Wasn't it last season when the band went to ULM? They were in visitor section seats, and ULM accomodated.

If you're serious, that's really shatty. PLEASE stay at home if that's the case. Sounds like people like you already have their minds made up that their going to have a really bad time, so DON'T come.
It wasn't an issue for us Tech fans to spend our money in Laffy & we certainly wouldn't purposely try to penalize area businesses if they happen to reside in the same town as a rival school. For awhile now, (I for one) believed that UL would be a good addition to CUSA simply for the renewal of an old rivalry, good competition, easy travel, etc. but if this is the way your fanbase would "return the favor", to little ole Ruston, I would definitely change my tune. No wonder ULM fans hold y'all in such high regard.
We do tend to get a little defensive and sensitive over here but it goes both ways. I don't partake in the BBB boards you guys have but several of our members do and from time to time, post links to threads on that board and delusion runs many ways. Do we have some goofballs here who are perhaps stuck in La La land? Yes, as you've seen but so do Tech fans. However, don't ever think that one or two people's opinions reflect those of an entire fan base. BTW I'm curious to see where this goes as we still have a long way to go before the actual game.

Having said that, I myself had to chuckle at a couple of the posts beating our chest about recruiting and overall athletic programs. We've come a long way from where we were 5 years ago but still have a long way to go. I think both schools recruit very similarly in football and we've both missed out on players who committed to the other so to say that one school has outrecruited the other in recent years may be a stretch as I'd view them as fairly equal. Yeah, we have these services that rank classes and such and that's all great but we had many people who thought our level of athlete was much superior to yours last year and we see how that turned out. I think neither side should get too far ahead of itself, especially when the proof is in the pudding and on the field. We'll see late fall.

OK, conference affiliation aside, I'll pose a cold war question to you. As the congressman after being told of all our deficiencies asked the secretary of state would he trade our military abilities to the USSR. At that point he said of course not. Now I say to your, LTUR last five years, or our last five years. LTUR future five year potential or ours. Who do you think is delusional?

Blue Dog keeps demeaning Lafayette by calling it Lafy, and demeans our fans support by saying Ruston is small, they have at least six thousand less students and most of their alumni leave while most of ours stay( a vast overstatement ). Well that is the point Blue Dog, we are bigger and growing faster, our city is dynamic and one of the best business climates in the USA, and YES we love our university and city looking for anyway to return or stay as opposed to RUST-on in a portion of the state losing population decade after decade.

UL has a very bright future limited only by ourselves. LTUR not so much.

Exactly. We have all the potential to grow and be the things that ltur (and others) do not have, which explains their extreme obsession with us, and ESPECIALLY why they are so pre-occupied and down-right petrified about what name we go by. We also get the double whammy, because the purple pig can see it too, and will do everything they can to try to stop us.

Shame on us for letting our Admin be the most serious road-blocks that we have faced, but thankfully those days are gone. All one has to do is look at our growth in just the last 4 years to realize our potential. Not saying that ltur will not see any more growth, but, especially when compared to us, they are extremely limited and THEY KNOW IT. Anyone giving both programs an unbiased look (like the recent cbsports survey) can plainly see it as well.

Regardless of how you feel about SF, you have to agree how correct he is when he says "You ain't seen nothing yet."
