UL ranks No. 12 nationally in 2015 pentathlam

For the 11th straight season, diehard UL Ragin’ Cajun fan Glen Raggio has put together a statistical database to chart winning percentages in the five major sports, at least in our region.

He calls it the Pentathlam.

It’s not scientific. It doesn’t weigh variables.

Like no other opinion poll or ranking, Pentathlam captures and helps you reflect back on what your everyday experience as a fan was really like.

It's fun to think about it. Louisiana fans went home a winner 68% of the time while this years most fortunate fan base -Notre Dame- enjoyed winning at an 8% greater clip, with the other ten above the Ragin' Cajuns falling somewhere in between.

Congrats to the Irish of ND for this year and other successful Pentathlam years, it is of note however that in five of the last eleven years, LA has finished higher than Notre Dame.

In 2005 I posed the specific question "How much more money will Notre Dame have to spend to beat UL in the Pentathlam?" Back then they were spending double what Louisiana spends today, around $40 million.

After a 20 minute search I couldn't find Norte Dame's numbers for this past year, they are not included in the list this thread links to ...

Speaking strictly as a fan, I'm still more impressed with Louisiana's numbers.
