Very proud of them and especially happy they are all Ragin Cajuns!
Yes Rick, you did good too! Just the fact that they can call themselves Ragin Cajuns gives them a head start in life! LMAO!

It addresses the need for the tuition increase. Unfortunately is does not address the cuts from the state for athletics. The coaches are beginning to hear about what cuts are going to take place or that have been approved for their programs.

I firmly believe that T-Joe's long term strategy is to completely cut off athletics from University funding. As long as he gets out of the way of RCAF and other fund-raising initiatives I am ok with that.

Long term I'm in agreement, in the short term should do so as we transition. Making cuts now while sitting on state money doesn't help athletics right now and undermines the move to stipends. Yes, our football and basketball coaches can say we will offer stipends but they will also have to say I hope you kids enjoy the long bus rides.

Our AD needs to get off his azz and address that by aggressively pursuing funding, not take the easy way out and just cut.

It might have something to do with the 200+% increase in tuition in the last 20 years. This is the national average. Not sure about UL.

Well if that is the national average then UL is probably at about 60% increase in tuition. Hell we are still cheaper than several diploma mills.

When I first read the thread title, I thought the story would be "UL System approves tuition and fees but University of Louisiana at Lafayette officials decline", stating "this would surely knock us right out of being named the top bargain, bang-for-your-buck University that we all have been strutting about, for the past few years. (sarcasm: for those that don't recognize it)
