Default Cajuns add a pair of signees

Figured I'd post this on here because this story wasn't posted to our Cajuns page for some reason.

The baseball team added a pair of late signees. http://theadvocate.com/sports/127312...-team-adds-two

  2. Default Louisiana adds two junior college infielders

UL — The Lousiana baseball team wanted to add some experience and depth to its infield, and it feels as if it accomplished that with the recent signing of junior college infielders Brad Antchak and Alex Pinero. With shortstop Blake Trahan...

I don't know the answer to that, but I can tell you that Antchak was drafted by the Astros in the 39th round of the the 2014 draft. And Pinero was originally recruited by FIU, but chose the JUCO route instead.

You know...we have a guy from Canada. Seems a bit weird, until you think about it. Hockey guys prolly have the certain skill set that would do well in baseball. I say this also after seeing one of the Tampa Bay Lightning players hit a home run in BP before last night's Rays game. It's kind of like Power Forwards becoming good Tight Ends in football. It's a skill set that you can apply to multiple sports.

    Hockey:

    Good hand eye coordination
Light on their feet, due to skating
Proficiency in hitting a small object with a stick with regular accuracy
    Tougher than a Rhino's nutsack

They would be complete ____ in the field. That is...unless you get a goalie. Some scout is going to see this...apply it...and become the next Billy Beane.

They would probably be very good at the balls low in the zone.
