I wish they would build a new Tigue in the parking lot so that when you are at home plate you would look to the outfield and see the elevator shaft that has Cajun Field. You could then bring temporary seating in the outfield when needed. You then take the lot where the Tigue is now and use it for RV parking for Cajun Field.
Learned this in the past year, but most (not all) baseball stadiums face the same direction. The Tigue is totally backwards from this "standard". Look at satellite shots of other college parks too.

Actually it is almost the exact line MLB suggest. North is to the top of the picture.

To get an idea of the pitch and spacing of the chairbacks, then look at Alex Box for a reference, being that is was built up to the more modern codes. Helmut, I know you know this, but this is for the board, this is a code requirement. You won't find the chairback section to be the similar to the one now. If you notice on the football SEZ expansion, those bleachers are at a different spacing and pitch then the rest of the stadium. Similar thing will happen for the Tigue.
More spacing for grandstand will be heavenly.
From the aerial photo the line from second base through the pitchers mound to home plate is north east (a bearing of north 45 degrees east). North east being defined as between north 30 degrees east to north 60 degrees east (that is 30 to 60 degrees off of north). East north east is from 60 to 80 degrees off of north. So it appears that Tigue More field is about 150 degrees rotated from this standard. In this case it does not appear to have any bad consequences because, if the orientation was to be as stated by the standard, outfielders would be looking into the afternoon sun. Good if you are batting but not too good if you are fielding.
Most football stadia are oriented generally north to south to eliminate quarterbacks and receivers from looking into an afternoon sun. Most home sides are on the west side so the coaches are not looking into or baking in the afternoon sun.
Spoke to a Huge RaginCajun supporter who's son-in-law was and still is with the Ragin Cagin Cellebration Event fundraising organizers. He told me the Tigues renovation and addition would total some $20 million! $10 million from the university and another $10 million from Baseball donors! Can anyone verify this to be true/false?
