You sir have never attempted a beer mile, then, or have grabbed a cup of beer at Mile 11 of a half-marathon.

That's a major reason(beside the old age) that I can no longer hit my stride.

Idk if it's just my taste buds, but I feel like the flavors of light lagers/ales come out more when slightly chilled or at room temp. However, with darks I enjoy the flavors when they are as cold as possible.

Serious business going on here. Beer showdown between two of my favorite IPAs.

On the Left, hailing from Tampa, Florida, delivered courtesy of an awesome neighbor who just returned from family vacation, Cigar City Jai Alai canned on 06/09.

On the right, from the rurals of Magnolia, Texas, this relatively new beer has taken the Houston area by storm, Lone Pint Yellow Rose, bottled on 06/24.

Scorecard: Yellow Rose won in smell. This is an awesome smelling beer (yes, some beers are supposed to have a good smell). However, in taste, the Jai Alai edges out the Texan.

Both are incredible beers. Cigar City is distributed only in FL, and Lone Pint is pretty much limited to just the Houston area right now.

And for tonight's 2nd ticket, a showdown between two of my favorite DIPAs.

On the left, hailing from the Pacific Coast of Paso Robles, Firestone Walker Double Jack, bottled on 05/08. On the right, from the mean streets of Ipswich, Massachusetts (yes, I had to look up how to spell out the state), Clown Shoes Space Cake bottled on 05/04.

Final score: The Space Cake had a better smell, but the ultimate determination, the actual taste, I've been unable to make a decision. More research is needed.

Cool story, was at a wedding in Shreveport 2 weekends ago and one of the bridesmaid's husband's was from Fort Myers. We get to talking about Texas beers and he mentions this Cigar City place. Very intriguing story. Next day I go around the city looking for a cigar shop and typed "cigar" into google maps app and the first option that pops up is Cigar City Tampa, FL. Weirdest coincidence.

Went to 11 Below Brewery open house yesterday in Houston. Was very cool and drank/sampled some great beer too. The owner gave us a tour of the entire setup and explained each step of brewing process. Even got a sneak peak in their cooler room!

My little brother recently visiting a Yuengling brewery for a tour of it. He was told that Louisiana is top of companies future service areas. Said it should not be but a couple years away.
