He got a spring training call? That's a big deal.
I know Blake has got off to a terrible start in advanced A ball but in his has 5 games he is 5 - 19. And has raised his batting average 32 points. Including going 2-4 tonight.
Really would like for him to catch fire and work his way up to AA.
In baseball allot of times it is just about getting comfortable. I think he is seeing the ball much better now. 5-19 is not earth shattering, but considering he was 8-74 to start the season, it could be the turning point. Oh by the way, Blake has always had a great eye, that is showing with his 11 walks so far. But he will need to cut down on his strikeouts.
If Blake has lots of walks AND lots of strikeouts, I wonder how many times he got caught looking?
Crazy how he went from being one of the top hitters in the Reds Spring Training camp to a slump to start out High A. He'll get on a tear soon
On a somewhat related note, Ryan Leonards was bumped up to AA Birmingham a week ago. He had gotten sent there at the end of last year (2 level jump from reg A) then started this year in High A. Just 7 games under his belt so far this year though.
