I'm not sure that would guarantee them more time in the program. If I understand correctly, a baseball player signing with a D-1 program directly out of high school is still draft eligible three years after graduating high school, regardless if he red-shirts or not.

If someone knows better, feel free to correct me.

You are correct. I completely forgot about that rule. My mind is a little off after this weekend.

Listen, those tiggger fans won't ever admit it but they expected to have a walk in the park and for the better part of 17 innings they were squirming in their seats. Truth is they did what a top ranked team (hate to admit that i really dolol) should do. But look around the Supers blow-outs all around Our guys were right there where a hit here or a high bouncer there and we could have won this I am very proud of the work that Coach Robe, Bab and in particular the Seniors did this year Get a few sticks next year and dare I say it???? Omaha is not out of the question

If I am correct, they can leave after being on campus for 3 years. That means that if we redshirted them, they would then be eligible for the draft after their sophomore year and we would probably lose them.

Exactly, either play 2 or 3 years (assuming they'd still be draft worthy after year 3). If they're good enough to play, they will see the mound in some capacity.

----However it works out we now have 4 freshmen pitchers returning that are damn good----3 -5 for the for the W/Es and now we should be better in games during the week---Sounds very strong to me!!!

Yep. 4 year college guys need to be 21 years old at the draft, if not jrs.

There is no such thing as having too many Friday night starters. If we actually have Moore, Guillory, Leger, Marks, Charp, Toups, Lee and Harris on the same team, we will be scary good. Think of the competition just within the staff.

The best thing about the last few games is that I NEVER felt like we were out of it. Even in the 9th last night I thought it was possible to win the game, the series and Omaha. That is a great feeling to have about a team.
