Thread: LSU wins coin toss

I thought the ncaa got away from the bidding process..... I remember when bids could win regardless of if team was good or not, I thought now it was more just on team performance...., except for a few stragglers like uc Santa Barbara and these guys. Which is it? I couldn't imagine them making an sec team desreving host be hosted by the opponent, maybe all should be neutral sites or no ticket restrictions. I can't think of any other other sport where tickets are so unequal

You still "bid," but if you meet certain minimum requirements (stadium size, press box, lighting, I don't know the others) and you're the best, you host.

Missouri State plays its home games in a minor league park that wasn't available for Supers, so they only bid for regionals. Since Arkansas bid for Supers too, they get it.

If you notice, Missouri State was still home team for game 1, since they were the higher seed.

In 2000, we hosted as a #2 regional seed. That was more common then.

Had we been in VCU's bracket this year, we would be hosting the Super. Actually, had UNCW won, it's my understanding we'd be hosting them because they didn't bid for a Super - even though they were the higher seed.

So would you say that it is a transparent process? Fifa is under a lot of controversy for allegedly not being transparent, but it seems a lot more transparent than ncaa. Plenty more info to read about fifa bids and votes how they were selected, etc.
